A Review After the First Month

4.8 / 5

I ordered a set of handmade ceramic mugs from Lola Gonzalez Studio about five weeks ago, and I wanted to wait a full month before writing anything. The first week was mostly about unpacking and finding a place for them. The second week was when I started noticing small things: the glaze on the inside of the mug has a slightly different tone than the outside, and the handle sits at an angle that makes it comfortable to hold even when the mug is full.

What surprised me most was how the set works in daily use. I drink coffee every morning, and the mugs keep the heat longer than the store-bought ones I had before. The artisan also added a small raised line near the rim, which sounds like a tiny detail, but it gives the mug a better grip when you are half asleep. I did not ask for that feature, so it felt like a thoughtful extra rather than something I had to request.

There was one small issue during delivery: the box arrived with a dented corner, but the mugs were wrapped so carefully that nothing moved. I mentioned this to the studio, and they replied within a day explaining how they pack each piece individually. That response was useful because it showed they had thought about the shipping process before, not just after a problem came up.

After a month of regular use, I can say the set holds up well. No chips, no fading, and the glaze still looks the same as the day it arrived. I would order from them again, probably a larger set for when friends come over. If you are thinking about buying handmade ceramics, the main thing to know is that each piece will have its own character, so do not expect perfect uniformity. That is exactly why I chose this studio in the first place.

What customers actually say after working with us

Every review on this page comes from a real purchase or service session. We check the details, keep the context, and sort by how useful the feedback is for someone making a decision.

I ordered a custom ceramic mug set for my partner's birthday. The glaze came out with a soft lavender tone that matched the reference photo I sent. The handles sit comfortably, and the packaging survived the courier without a scratch. It took about two weeks from sketch to delivery, which was exactly what the studio promised.

The communication before the project started was the most useful part for me. I got a clear timeline, a list of what the price covered, and a quick reply every time I had a question about sizing. The final illustration matched the brief, and the artist flagged one detail I had missed before the final version was locked.

This was my second time commissioning something from the studio, and the process felt smoother than the first. The artist remembered my preferences from the earlier order, suggested a slightly different composition, and delivered the finished piece a day early. That kind of consistency is why I keep coming back.
